New boosted (and patented) calcium source: di-calcium malate from patented DimaCal® (Albion® Minerals, US patent US6706904B1), a special form of calcium for enhanced absorbability, solubility, and bioavailability. Di-calcium malate (DCM) from DimaCal® is a concentrated form of calcium made from two molecules of calcium tied to one molecule of malic acid. This combination results in a higher percent of elemental calcium (29%) than calcium citrate (19%) from identical amounts of calcium intake. DimaCal® is also demonstrated to maintain elevated serum calcium levels for a longer period of time. (24,25) Clinical trials have demonstrated that DCM is a most bioavailable calcium with a longer half-life than other forms of calcium. (29,30) The concentrated delivery of DimaCal®’s DCM allows more room for other beneficial healthy bone-supportive minerals and vitamins.
